About

Hello all!

About The Blog

Put the world to writes is my space on the internet to write about my journeys across the world, to inspire others to travel (especially solo), to create city guides that I hope will be of use to at least one of you reading this, and to ramble on about the mundane (or not so mundane, you never know) goings on in my life.

As a travel blogger I think I’d describe myself as a budget solo traveller with added comforts/luxury. In other words, I love staying in £10 a night hostels, but I’m not about that sleeping in freezing cold airports life so I’ll happily splash the cash on an expensive airport hotel.

What I Hope To Achieve

Although the travel aspect of my blog is quite new I hope that, in the future, my little corner of the internet will be full of city guides, solo travel tips, and reviews of every type of trip from budget, to luxury, to organised group tours.

More importantly I hope to help and inspire other people on their travels. If one person uses my blog for inspiration then I will be very happy indeed.

If you’d like to get in touch about a possible collaboration and what-not then please check out my contact page for more info.

A Bit About Me:

route 66

I’ve just completed a BSc psychology degree and now I’m dedicating all my spare time to avoiding the real world and adult responsibilities. I’m considering a career in forensic psychology but my real passion is with writing- I’ve loved to write since I learnt how to hold a pen- so, for now, I’d like to focus on my blog/writing and see where that leads me.

I’ve also only  in the last year or so been bitten by the travel bug (that’s such a cliche line isn’t it?) on a three month long trip to the USA in 2015. Since then I’ve realised that I’m not ready to be stuck in one place working nearly every day to save up for an annual trip that somebody else says I’m allowed to have time off work for. Urgh. Right now, I just want to see the world and write stories on beaches.

My big loves in life (besides my family & travel) include animals (I have a big fluffy teddy bear of a dog called Maisy who always comes to greet me at the airport when I return from a trip), fiction writing, the beach/ocean, Game of Thrones, reading a good book wrapped in a fluffy blanket, that first sip of coffee in the morning, and staying up late having deep and meaningful chats with my best friends and strangers alike.

If you’d like to know a bit more about me and my blog I wrote a post here!

I Hope you enjoy your time on my blog. If you like what you read, or it’s useful to you in some way, I’d be very happy if you left me a comment.

  • Hi Emily, thanks for visiting and following my blog. Your psychology degree, when you complete it, will be so useful in your fiction writing, for it will give you great insight into character. You just need to work on that procrastination problem. 😀 Bribing oneself with treats can help! Good luck!

    • Hi 🙂 You’re welcome. Yes I never thought of that but it will definitely come in handy. I know, I’m going to have to start bribing myself with treats more often! Thank you.

  • Hi there! Thanks for following my blog and I hope you enjoy my bookish ramblings. I look forward to reading your writing.

  • Nice, we share similar interests. Except for the procrastination thing, that is. I’m a writer, I too wish to visit certain dream places of mine (London, being one of them!), and though I only recently graduated from high school, I do plan on studying psychology. 🙂

    • Sorry I thought I’d already replied to this! Ahh nice, you should definitely visit London, it’s one of my favourite cities.
