Stumbling through life, one day at a time

Hello all!

I’m Emily, a 25 year old travel & lifestyle blogger from the United Kingdom.

I’ve been blogging, on and off, for around 7 years and in that time I have lived in the USA (upstate New York), Edinburgh and the Midlands. I have graduated from university, started a masters in forensic psychology, and worked in comedy until I hated it so much I quit (I do miss hanging out with famous comedians regularly though!).

As a traveller I think I’d describe myself as a budget solo traveller with added comforts/luxury. In other words, I love staying in £10 a night hostels, but I’m not about that sleeping in freezing cold airports life so I’ll happily splash the cash on an expensive airport hotel. I wouldn’t say no to luxury if the opportunity presented itself but I also love hostel life and getting my hiking boots muddy.

I currently work with homeless people while I study for my masters, and have no desire to quit and make blogging my full-time career. Whilst I love to travel and to write, I don’t see myself ever dedicating my life to it. That being said, I don’t think you need to in order to be successful at this travel writing lark – and I’m here to prove that to you.

I also hope to give you a little insight into what it’s like to travel solo as a woman, what travelling is like for queer women, and how I manage my depression while exploring the world. Most of all I want to show you that travelling is wonderful and accessible, no matter who you are or what barriers you have been told are in your way.

I hope you’ll stick around and follow me on this journey!

  • Hi Emily, thanks for visiting and following my blog. Your psychology degree, when you complete it, will be so useful in your fiction writing, for it will give you great insight into character. You just need to work on that procrastination problem. 😀 Bribing oneself with treats can help! Good luck!

    • Hi 🙂 You’re welcome. Yes I never thought of that but it will definitely come in handy. I know, I’m going to have to start bribing myself with treats more often! Thank you.

  • Hi there! Thanks for following my blog and I hope you enjoy my bookish ramblings. I look forward to reading your writing.

  • Nice, we share similar interests. Except for the procrastination thing, that is. I’m a writer, I too wish to visit certain dream places of mine (London, being one of them!), and though I only recently graduated from high school, I do plan on studying psychology. 🙂

    • Sorry I thought I’d already replied to this! Ahh nice, you should definitely visit London, it’s one of my favourite cities.
