I want to start this with an apology, not only to my lovely followers but to myself too, for allowing myself to put my blog on the back burner recently. I’ve had a lot going on in these last couple of weeks and I’ve just not got around to posting. Anyway, I know all of you are super excited to find out what’s been going on in my life, so I’m going to give you a quick update. I know you’re all on the edge of your seats right now, barely able to contain your excitement, so I’ll just give you a minute to regain yourselves….
Is everyone calm? Ok, good.
Well, firstly, I sort of have and sort of haven’t been on a writing role these last couple of weeks. I started off great and I’ve even managed to finish the first chapter of the novel I’m currently writing (well I’ve finished the first draft but that’s better than nothing). After that, however, my writing took more of a backseat.
I’ve been re-writing and tweaking the second part of ‘The Blackout’ but I’m not posting it until I’m completely happy as the first part didn’t really have the response I was hoping for. If anyone is interested in reading the first part then you can do so here: https://puttheworldtowrites.wordpress.com/2014/08/02/the-blackout-part-1/ (or you could just scroll down to the post underneath this one but I’ve been wanting an excuse to link something in a post!) (I deleted this story as it really wasn’t my best. The story ceases to be).
Secondly, I’ve been planning my trip to the USA next summer. How exciting is that?! I’m applying to work out there for two months then travel for a month if everything goes as planned. I really want my application to be perfect so I’m taking longer to complete it than I imagined I would take, and with this constantly on my mind I haven’t had much head space for writing ideas. This would be such a brilliant opportunity and I really don’t want to mess it up in any way.
Thirdly, I made peanut butter cookies yesterday…and they tasted awful 🙁 I couldn’t find my old recipe so I used one off the internet and they tasted too salty. I’ve since found the old recipe (read: my mum has since found the old recipe) and I made more today which are the greatest cookies anyone has ever tasted (they’re not really, but they’re definitely an improvement on yesterdays’ disaster!)
Anyway, that’s just a quick update regarding my lack of activity on here. I haven’t abandoned my blog and I’m not planning on abandoning it anytime soon.
That’s all for now 🙂
