Top Ten On My Travel BucketList

Fun fact: the longer I think about the term ‘bucket list’, the more I dislike the thought of it; I find it morbid *shudders*. But since bucket list is what it’s called, a bucket list is what it shall remain.

I don’t have a written down bucket list, but the list of places I want to go to and things I want to do in my head is constantly growing. So much so that if I wrote it all down we’d be here forever! That’s why I’ve decided to limit this post to just the top ten on my travel bucket list (in no particular order):

Cappadocia, Turkey, Sydney, Australia, Venice, Italy and New Orleans, USA- Bucket List Destinations

Cappadocia and Istanbul, Turkey- In recent weeks Turkey has made it’s way to the top of places that i want to visit. I blame Busabout! I discovered their Turkish adventures not too long ago and have been dreaming about underground cities, hot air balloons and sleeping in tree-houses ever since!

Sydney, Australia- I’ve already written about my desire to go an explore Australia, but Sydney is the city I’ve always wanted to visit the most. I’m not quite sure why- maybe it’s because it seems to be the most well know Australian city. Who knows?

Romantic trip to Venice, Italy- I’ve always wanted to have a romantic trip to Venice, so much so that my grandparents never wanted to take me there when I was younger just so that I could. Yes it’s cliche, but who doesn’t love a cliche every now and then? I can’t wait to stroll the canals, ride in a gondola and pay too much for a candlelit dinner.

Southern States, USA- I missed out on this when I did a trek America back in 2015 because I chose to focus on the west coast instead. When I visit the US next, however, this is where I want to go. I want to dance to Jazz, see Graceland and drink too much whiskey.

Island hopping in Greece- I’m not sure why I want to island hop because I get really bad seasickness! With regards to Greece, however, it’s easy to see why I’m so desperate to see this beautiful part of the world. Want to watch the sun set over the Aegean with some Ouzo, anyone?

India- There’s just something so magical about the thought of India. I don’t have a specific place I want to see more than any others; I want to experience it all, from the glorious Taj Mahal, to are bustling cities of New Dheli and Mumbai, to the beaches of Goa.

Bran castle, Romania- I love castles, what can I say? This is another one I blame Busabout for (I’m not even on their affiliate programme!). They had a Halloween trip last year which included an overnight stay in Bran’s castle. I was unemployed at the time and it began on my birthday so I didn’t go but it’s been in my head ever since.

bucket list destinations- bran castle, romania, elephant sanctuary, Thailand, Taj Mahal, India, Colombia

Elephant Sanctuary, Thailand- who doesn’t love the idea of playing with and caring for cute elephants?! I’m not a fan of Thailand’s barbaric animal tourism like elephant rides or tiger temples, so I’d love to go to a proper elephant sanctuary to meet these magnificent animals.

Northern Lights, Iceland- A big dream of mine and a big dream of my mum’s so I’d love to experience the world’s most famous light show with her.

Road trip through Colombia- A friend of mine recently came back from a year of living in Colombia and has made me want to go with all his stories. Narcos has also played a part in this but I’m not sure it was supposed to have that affect… Another friend and I have planned a road trip for later this year, but it’s not set in stone. We’ll be hitting the big cities like Bogota, Medellin, and Cartegena!

  • I call it a Life List!

I just made one for New York State on my blog if you’re interested.

I really like your list and I’d have to say Peru/Chile are near the top of my “Life List”.
